A quick and easy Christmas decoration, I've been making variations of this mouse for years. Usually I've done it as a magnet for the fridge, with a chenille stem for the tail. I saw a picture the other day of a similar mouse with a candy cane for a tail and had to give the little guy a try.
You simply need the following materials:
Felt for the body
Holiday fabric for the ears
2 googly eyes, per mouse
A circle of felt or craft foam for the nose (I used a hole punch and craft foam)
Candy cane, for the tail
Cut out a body, as seen above with the white felt. It's almost a tear-drop shape. Cut the ear(s) like the yellow felt pictured in above-a little smaller than the body. Glue on the eyes and nose (I used hot glue, but craft glue works just as well, just give it time to dry). Fold the face over and cut two vertical slits to thread the ears through. Then fold the body in half and cut two horizontal slits to slide the candy cane through for the tail. And you're done! You made need to add a dot of glue to secure the candy cane, especially if you are planning to hang him on your tree.
Good luck with getting ready for Christmas! Make some memories along the way. ~Lena
